Creating Movement with Danielle Horsley

by Danica Dalao 05 Apr 2021 0 Comments
From yoga challenges to sharing helpful tips, our yoga community is ever-growing. To highlight the community, we interviewed Jed North Yogi, Danielle Horsley to dive deeper into her journey.

Introduce yourself!

My name is Danielle Horsley and I am currently living my best life here in Hawai’i where I get to see all the beautiful sharks, sea turtles, dolphins and fish. A lot of the time I go on hikes for that fresh feeling of connecting with Mother Nature.

How did you get into yoga?

Yoga hasn’t been a part of my life for long but, I found the love and passion for it once I moved to Germany where I had no one but myself. It was more of a release of depression since I didn’t have my fur babies with us at the time. But, before that, I wasn’t focused on yoga poses or the nature of yoga. I was only focused on doing inversions with my best friend back when I lived in California. I think that is why handstands have become my favourite yoga pose/inversion. It’s the first one I started to learn and still learning from. Handstands and lotus are still a long and heart-felt journey that I am still doing my best to achieve.

What do you love about yoga?

Yoga is more about the poses. It’s about the connection we have within ourselves and others. I think that’s what I found most to love about this sport. Helping others is what I enjoy doing. Helping myself is also a blessing.

Who or what is your inspiration?

I think everyone and myself would have to be my inspiration. We all come from different journeys and all have different stories to tell.

What's your favourite set from Jed North to flow in?

I love to flow in the newest white camo soft set. There are several pieces that I enjoy flowing in or even wearing, but that to me is the comfiest when flowing. It’s so lightweight!

What is your favourite quote?

I have a few favourite quotes that speak to my heart.

"Never a failure always a lesson." , "live life to the fullest.", "every breath is a second chance."
